Here is your problem, from http://blogs.zdnet.com/soho-networking/?p=117

"The difference between the two models is that the WRT310N has Gigabit Ethernet and three internal antennas. The WRT160N lacks Gigabit Ethernet and has only two antennas. Both use MIMO technology but, according to the spec sheet, the WRT310N employs Draft 2.0 of the 802.11n spec, while the WRT160N uses version 1."

DAP-1522 is using 802.11n V2, WRT-160N is using V1 (unless there is - or you have - a FW update to V2)

Well then we may have a vendor 802.11n Draft 2 interpretation problem - read each vendor implements their interpretation of the draft standard.  This is very common even in the enterprise world.  I cannot recall if anyone has paired a DAP-1522 bridged with a Linksys N router?....would someone chime in?

jjyang, I'm curious, when you say your WRT160N is V2 are you talking about the model version or the version of the 802.11n spec it uses.  I think whartlin might be right in that the bridge uses Draft 2.0 of the 802.11n spec while the WRT160N router uses Draft 1.0 (based on the link he posted) which is why we cannot get a sustained connection.  I'm also curious as to whether a firmware update can fix this or if this is restrained to the hardware.

So from perusing the web, it seems that now that the 802.11n standard has been finalized, most vendors who have already implemented it can release firmware that will bring their equipment up to spec.

802.11n Wi-Fi standard finally approved

jjyang, it seems like 802.11g works just fine for you so no biggie there but I would love to get N up and running for streaming.

Anybody have any thoughts on whether this is something we can expect within a few months time?  I ask because I have about 2 more weeks before my RMA is up and though I do prefer the flexibility of having 4 LAN ports, I would much rather have a working 802.11n connection so a swap may be in order.

I guess it is hardware V2 since on the label it says WRT160NV2.

Just an FYI, I've had nothing but trouble with Linksys.
I've had several friends that owned one version or another of their routers and I've had issues with every one.

I tried connecting my 1522 to one of their new single band N (which isn't even an official standard from what I've read) routers and the push button setup wouldn't work at all.
Either brand could be to blame.

I did run into the same problems, DAP-1522 fw 1.21 and Linksys WRT-160Nv2 with FW 2.0.3 Specially bought this device to run in N mode but this gives the connection drops when I transfered data over the wifi connection. Now I put the Linksys in G mode and no problem anymore. Question I have open is will my problem being solved when I buy the D-Link DIR-855 ?

Upgrade to a 610N. I'm running a 610N and have no problems communicating with the DAP-1522 @ 2.4 GHz.
