I'll love to see SharePort support for MAC OS X. I decided to buy the DGL-4500 over the Airport or TimeCapsule, hoping D-Link would have that functionality later.
There's a lot of people out there just like me who would rather buy the DGL-4500. So Please, don't disappoint us. Plus, all the money you could make, as a better alternative to current similar Apple products.

I'm not going to check two, because I hate being limited.  However, one for certain is definitely going to be IPv6 support.  Now, this is assuming that we'll be moving into IPv6, and that our ISP's can assign us those kind of addresses.

It's not a matter of whether or not ISP's can or can not provide us with IPv6 support and addresses.

They are going to have no choice in the matter as this is something that has been mandated. The problem here is how soon everyone is going to be able to provide direct IPv6 service.

Already, Verizon is in the process of converting their network over to IPv6, but it's going to take awhile before they are going to be able to provide full IPv6 service for all areas. If you do a search on Verizon's website for IPv6, you will find documents outlining the current schedule.

Other ISP's should have schedules in place for implementing IPv6 also.

This also means that a lot of Routers will need to be replaced unless they support IPv6 either currently or via a firmware update. Same thing will apply to Broadband Modems, although I wouldn't think these would be affected so much unless they happen to have a built in router as many models currently do these days.

D-Link has been in the press about their IPv6 solutions for over a year, yet I show no signs of IPv6 support in their consumer products.

C'mon D-Link, it's time!  How can we prepare our LANs when the core device isn't capable?

Mobile Admin Interface

I know a iPhone/iPod touch specific admin interface is probably out of the question,  but a general mobile interface would be awesome.  I would really like to login to my router remotely (and I mean truly remote.  ;))  It would be especially useful for doing remote reboots when you leave torrents or a game server running and the router gets bogged down.

Allow the DHCP server to advertise a specified default gateway.

Add support for more USA 3G EVDO USB modems (Novatel U720)

IPv6 PLEASE!

Any word on when we'll have a firmware update which supports IPv6 in the dgl 4500?  The DIR 615 has it?  What's keeping back a firmware update for all the other devices?

SAMBA would be nice too. and an IPv6 firewall when we finally get an IPv6 firmware...

IPv6 is a waste of time. Not to mention, let's run out of v4 first before we start using it...
You don't see people jumping into lifeboats on a floating sound working ship... it has to be sinking.
I think if ppl start to get into subnetting, we'd really see a change in things. Plus not to mention, the gov't needs to break up all of the class A addresses that HP and AT&T are hogging up... I mean come on....
Although v6 would definitely decrease the value of those class A's and maybe that's exactly what they want... I know those two corporations are going to fight the v6 rollout... Why on earth wouldn't you simply just add another octet or something... WHY would you go to a hex format that mimics the mac address appearance??  Anyhow my vote was for VPN....

First question everyone should consider when requesting a new feature is if the Router will be able to support it without overheating and/or crashing and/or slowing down overall performance. IF any of the previous is true, then forget about it, and implement the solution as a separate product connected to your network.

Otherwise, the router will become a useless paperweight.

Native VPN sounds good to me. But First: DLINK, please get SharePort working right on both MACs and PCs, solve the current performance issues. Don't make it harder on yourselves!

Yeah, at least Console access (telnet or SSH?), if the above is too difficult to implement. I haven't tried remotely managing the router using an iPhone, but I would imagine it should work. Does it?

I am about to make a cross country trip, i want to connect my ps3 to the internet as well as my laptop, while on the go, i hear that my DGL-4500 supports this Verizon connection, however, i seem to remember that it was part of my shareport data that had the option for the 3g connection... this had better be compatible with all devices connected to the router, you see, i am an avid gamer, i don't think i would survive without the games for however long.  thus rendering, can the router set up the 3g without the shareport utility.  this would seem much easier than only allowing one computer onto the internet.  if i am quite wrong and misunderstand the bit of information that i gathered, then please walk me through this.

DGL-4500 + 3G USB + PS3 = Online mobile console gaming?
