Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual channel to a open or unused channel.
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto.

Any other WiFi routers in the area? Use InSSIDer to find out.

Turn off Short GI, WLAN Partition and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
Always follow the FW update sticky in this forum when updating FW. It helps.

Keep us posted.

Will do, thanks.  So many permutations to try out!  Per the sticky, I've been using N-only, 20/40 Auto, and WPA2/AES only.  I can see quite a few weak Wi-Fi networks from neighbouring houses, unfortunately.  I've tried both channel auto-scanning and using inSSIDer to pick what looks to be the optimum channel (9).  I'll try changing things up, including the guard interval and maybe some other advanced options.

I followed the FW upgrade sticky to a tee (except for saving/loading a config file, like you suggested), which is why it was so strange when the web interface reported that I was still using 1.01 after the first upgrade attempt.  The second time, I just went straight into the upgrade without first performing *another* factory reset, and it worked just fine.  Weird.

If there a lot of other WiFi, even at a distance, can effect how these routers work. You could be experiencing WiFi congestion on 2.4Ghz. If the WiFi won't stabilize. I would recommend trying a 5Ghz router and test with some 5ghz adapters and see.

Okay, I take it back.  Disabling HT 20/40 Coexistence DOES make a difference.  My media PC is now getting a 270 Mbps connection, as reported by the router.  Like my tablet, I'm fairly certain my netbook is neutered and can't do better than 65 Mbps for battery reasons.

Still haven't tried setting an admin password.  I'm scared I'll have to reset the router....  8^)

Glad you got it working.
What I would do is save off the configuration to file then go in and set up a ADMIN pw, make it simple if you need, doesn't have to be complex. Then test. If it works then save off the configuration to file again.

Keep us posted.

I can confirm that the password bug is NOT fixed in firmware 1.02.  I set a password, rebooted the router, and it was gone.  Reset to blank.  It would be nice if this were fixed in the next update.

Other than that, I'm very pleased with the router.  Haven't hadn't any drops or instability with one wired and up to four wireless clients.  Great speed and range.

I can confirm this. Just I'm using a 3 character pw for now. I'll make sure DLink gets this. it only happens when you save the config to file. I notice that you get the Admin preset before, after the User Name is blank.  :-\

I can confirm that Beta v1.02 seems to resolve this issue. I saved the routers configuration with out a PW, Factory reset the router, updated to v1.02, factory reset once more, loaded the saved configuration file with a blank PW, changed the PW to a long character PW, saved and rebooted the router and log in and PW worked correctly.

Huh.  1.02 didn't fix it for me.

Try again. Use IE or FF or Opera. Factory reset, upgrade, factory once more, then test.

Any status on this? Its working for me using v1.02. I'm currently using a 3 character PW just for general purposed. I did try a 14 character and it worked as well.

No, I haven't had a chance to reload the firmware yet, but I will one of these days.  I used Chrome before; I'll try IE next time.
