We understand the frustration man. Trust me we all do. I agree, the 5500 has been a disappointment. I believe  that QualComm has a major hand in the handling of there side of the FW on this router since it's there drivers they own. D-Link is actively working with QualComm on this.

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
  • Is ISP Modem/Service using Dynamic or Static WAN IP addressing?
  • What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?
  • Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Link> Cat6 is recommended.
  • Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask. Link>Checking MTU Values

So Knowing that StreamBoost is have a issue causing pe_loop and over consomation ove internet bandwidth!!!

Something else I have found with this version.  I have set my tablet to have the highest priority over everything, including and xbox one, xbox 360, 2 laptops and another wireless ap.  If someone is gaming and I want to watch an Amazon movie on my tablet, it always gets "best fit" in the Stats > Activity tracker page and lags somewhat.  Is this by design?  If you have a list of priorities by device, then it should stick to that no matter what kind of data is coming through.  Does StreamBoost go by device or data?

And what is the prognosis on this device?  It's been so quiet for months again with not even a peep.  Can we get even a small crumb of information, please?

FYI: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=54997.0

I recommend going back to Beta Build 03. It seems to be the best version...

They are working on it. Qualcomm is somewhat responsible on the development on SB since thats there code. I'll see if I can get some status.

It did it there too, and I think this may have been an ongoing issue over the last couple of versions.  I would have to test, but I don't really want to keep fiddling with it.  I like the wireless consistency better in the latest version.  My post was more informational, maybe it would help get the dominoes falling.  ;)

Thanks

If it's working for you, keep it for now.

DJ is B05 stable now?
What if anything did you do to get B05 stable?
Is there still dual entrys in priorities?
Last I checked B05 would crash every few days is that still an issue?
If B05 is working right or you found a way to keep it up without crashing please tell me I'll give it another go!

Just played Destiny on 2 xbox ones all weekend without issue.
I have not had it crash on me.  In fact I had it up for 15 days without issue for a bit.  I do like to restart is every few days to get the gunk out, if you know what I mean.

Priorities are still messed up, I have found that the entries with the full MAC addresses are the ones that you need to worry about.  The priorities do reset after a reboot also, which is annoying.
My problem is more with the QoS.  I feel that something is just not quite right with it, but I can't put my finger on it.  If Furry is right and Qualcomm is working on it, then that should get ironed out soon.

I did a fresh install with the 30/30/30 (I know Furry ;)) and just set my dhcp network and reservations, that was just about it.  I do have the 5.0 turned off.  DDns running and no filters rules.  I do have SPI turned off in the firewall (not sure if that was default or not).

If you need to know about another setting, let me know.

Can we at least get the daylight savings time issue and the admin password reset fixed.  Surely that has nothing to do with qualcomm.......

So us that you are still supporting the device.

I just dunno how much more waiting I can take.
I generally like D-link but there just keeping us in the dark.
I know the majority of posters left in the forums just want solid info.
Why wont an administrator address the forum?
An admin needs to post something like "where working on stuff looks to be a few more months"
See anger adverted!
I'm trying to hold out hope I really do like the 5500 but we waited for months and they gave us broken FW.
Furry please please get D-link to give us something other than hope.
D-link hear our plea we just want something no more run arounds.
If it looks like FW won't be out for awhile give us a general timeframe.
I don't think anyone will freak out if you miss the timeframe, but it keeps us in the loop makes us feel like you care that we spent $200 on your product.
I just want solid info so does everyone else.
I would appreciate it greatly if you could just keep us better informed.

Thank You
