Would either be a wifi connection issue between camera and router or a MDL service issue.
When I got home today I saw that one camera was showing up as one IP address (10.0.0.09) on the router but could be accessed if I used 10.0.0.5
NO idea why so I called the cable company to ask.....their script-readers could only reset my modem again.
For whatever reason though, once everything was up again I was able to get into one camera...so I decided to use my video edit computer (windows 10) to try and see if things would run any better...I eventually got all the cameras back online...changed back to DHCP and used the factory settings for most things.......so, with the 4 cams running on mydlink on the second computer AND on the android MDL app, I got brave and loaded the version of DCAM you suggested. AT first it ran great....all 4 cams hummed along nicely.....
But within an hour, one camera (my orignal 522LB1) started dropping out again.....I am using the bitrate labels on the display so I can see it......the other three cams were running nice and fast and consistent, between 1500 and 2000k.... this one was runing at 476, then 0 , then 675, then 0 etc and would eventually drop out to black for several seconds....eventually reconnect and run 476, 0 , 675, 0, 476, etc and then drop out again.....
One of the 933L cams also started doing this, and did it for a half hour or so, but then came back and is steady right now
The 933 cams are telling me that the network is at 100% signal......and one of those are in a room next door to the one having the issues right now (the 5222 in my livingroom).....
I have the extenders turned on on boith of the 933Ls.....
The only thing I cant really do is run an actual ethernet cable to the livingroom camera to see if the issue is wireless or not.....
I contnue to be at a loss as to why this is so goofy....
As an aside, how does "QOS" work? I have tried "0", "1" , "10" and higher but seem to see no difference in performance...
As a last ditch, I tried moving the antenna on the ceiling mounted livingroom cam.
That knocked it off the network altogether......tried pinging it and got 75% loss.
Soooooooooooo maybe THAT one is a wireless reception issue, but that makes no sense......one of the 933L cams are in a room further away from that one and has strong signal though Iam not sure if it is pulling signal from the router in the basement level or from the extender on the other 933 in the garage even further away but on the same level as the basement.
Finally, unplugged and replugged in the livingroom camera......after startup it is cooking at a nice steady 1600-2000k stream.......and I did nothing.
But I know it will start to bog down and die again.
If it were solely a WIFI issue, it shouldnt come back so strong right?
I guess one option would be to run an ethernet cable directt o it and see what happens......but then what is the point of having a wireless camera......<sigh>
WOndering if the DCS5222 will work with a NVR style system of another brand. I was rthinking I could return the 933 cams and get a whole new cabled NVR system....but am stuck with the 5222 because it can no longer be returned.
So unhappy and defeated.
